Infected blood inquiry

The Infected Blood Inquiry is an independent public statutory inquiry established to examine the circumstances in which men, women and children treated by national health services in the United Kingdom were given infected blood and infected blood products, in particular in the 1970s and 1980s.

The best place to get tested for blood borne viruses is in any of the integrated sexual health services. Information on where your local integrated sexual health services are can be found at NHS 111 Wales.

A free home testing service is available in Wales that you can use to test for blood borne viruses.

If you do a self-test for a blood borne virus and the result is positive, it’s important that you contact a health professional as soon as possible and get the emotional and medical support you need.
