Case study – Using the Viable System Model to strengthen Public Service Boards

Despite much progress being made since Public Services Boards (PSBs) were established in 2015, the baseline evaluation from the Shaping Places for Well-being in Wales programme, found that some PSBs were struggling to influence the wider determinants of health and well-being in a consistent and coordinated way. Structures, processes and changing priorities often affected how PSBs worked together and how much impact they could have locally and nationally.
