Oral health advice for parents and carers - Going to the dentist
Information on finding a dentist is available via NHS 111 Wales – Services Near You: Dental Helplines.
Dental screening is no longer offered at nurseries and schools. We recommend you take your child to a dental practice regularly for check-ups.
The dental team can give advice on how best to look after your child’s teeth to protect them from decay. The team will also check your child’s teeth for signs of decay, and manage this if necessary.
There a number of other things the dental team can do to help protect your child’s teeth, including applying fluoride varnish and placing fissure sealants.
